Take Care of Goddess' Slipper so as to Be Eternal

Paphiopedilum or pouch orchid is one of orchid varieties which is included in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) list. It is categorized in the Appendix I which means all of paphiopedilum species are illegal to trade in, unless they are the result of captive breeding. Thus, Sjahrizal Siregar, an orchid grower in Ciwidey, Bandung, has been encouraged to take captive of Venus' slipper orchids―the translation of Paphiopedilum name in Greece―since 1998.
Pouch orchids which come from nature are then treated so as to generate progenies. Each newly progeny is then segregated and grown in new medium. Hitherto it has attained thousands in number which comprises of 22 species. Owing to Sjahrizal's effort, the beauty of the slipper orchids can be enjoyed now and eternally.
